It could be argued that the following five are the favorites to podium in this year's TdF. Who would you put on the podium if you couldn't pick any of these?
Armstrong
Hamilton
Heras
Mayo
Ullrich

Denis Menchov's star is rising.
Sastre will not be there.
He's been riding strong. I'd pick him over Levi or perhaps even Heras-Roberto still can't ITT.

Jose Ivan Guiterrez of Illeas-Balears, who also have host of guys for the mountains (Menchov, Mancebo, Karpets).
No one is really talking about Gonzalez de Galdeano, Scarponi, Di Luca or Sevilla, all of whom could be in the running for a high finish. Isidro Nozal could come out of nowhere again. With only one flat TT, Rasmussen could have a good ride as well.
There really is a ton of depth this year the battle for the top-10 should be excellent. But I still think if everyone shows up in top form Ullrich and Armstrong battle for 1 and 2. And then Mayo, Heras, and Hamilton for the third spot. Everyone else for position 6-10.
