That's it.

you guys crack me up :D

... but with respect to the topic of Russia and it's current administration, it's pretty heavy handed there and Kasparov isn't far off in claiming they live in a police state. Makes Bush & Co. sound like Alfalfa sprout eating hippie liberals in comparison.

And Kasparov ... what a chess player !!!!! (former chess nerd here)

I'm trying really hard to find any semblance of relevance in your posts, rydster.

So, what you're saying is, it's ok for Bush to kiss up to Putin and talk about how he saw this guy's soul or whatever nonsense, because hey, what's the alternative, send tanks in?

I mean, really.

I don't like Bush, at all. But he has good sense to oppress, lie and obfuscate parts of the world not constituent to his electorate. Putin however thinks nothing of pissing in his own backyard. Same sh1t, varying smells.

I know these things, you just playing polemics on the interwebs for lack of punani and some semblance of a life. :prrr:

I was in Vietnam, and read about it six months later in Harper's Magazine, a Norman Mailer series later to be published as a book, "Armies of the Night." The mood was similar: a desperate minority, alienated from the political process, staging a mass demonstration to bring public attention to their plight. In both cases, violent repression plays into the demonstrators hands.

If Putin is the overwhelming favorite of the Russian people, they will forgive him for this transgression. Russians, along with Americans, have never been known for their gentleness in handling civil disobedience.

So Putin holds a black belt and George Bush rides a mountainbike? Perhaps Kasparov could teach Bush something about how to command a fight against insurgents!

This thread has all the makings for "Wizard of the Oz, Part II."

One man has no soul and the other has no brains... Condi can play Dorothy... Speedy is Toto... Rove is the Wizard... aka Bush's brain...

You'd not make a great casting director - your original cast stunk, so the ship sunk before it left port.

But your sentiment.

Fact is that if Bush had done something like this, the reflexive anti-american left would be screaming 'blue murder' and burning Bush papier mache figures.

Seems to be that Bush is judged with different standards is all I am saying.
