SPINDAWG 07-01-2004, 03:15 PM Emailed me this picture this morning. It's presently at his shop waiting on a set of Hyperon Ultras. I changed my mind on wheelsets at the last minute so he found a set at the Ciocc factory he could get pretty quick. Supposed to be mailing it my way pretty soon! I can't wait, it has turned out hot and the wheels are going to put this bike over the top! So, what do you think? Is it race worthy? Speaking of which, I forgot to ask him to weigh it when he puts the Hyperon clinchers on. I wonder what this badboy weights? Anyway, It's been a epic wait and my wait is almost over, can't wait to get my hands on it! Lately I've been pondering what ride I will take it on first?! How's things with you? Haven't seen you posting as often as you used to, what's up? Anyway, I'll post more pics and give a ride report when I get it! I'll also post pics of my wife's new project one 5200 that she got all black with black flames and put " KICKING YOUR ASS" on the top tube. I picked it up today and it turned out nice. See ya bud! SPINDAWG 07-02-2004, 04:32 AM It will go out Monday! He sent me a picture of it in front of his shop. I'll post it later on. divve 07-02-2004, 05:34 AM ......Hyperon Ultras....oh man :) euro-trash 07-02-2004, 05:45 AM damn, even the table in the background is cool. All those campy cranks and a snap-on toolkit. $$$$$. I don't think I even need to mention the wall of hanging Colnagos. boneman 07-02-2004, 07:57 AM Hyperion clinchers, you're definitely going all out. Perry's got some good connections and is also able to find good deals on the Continent. Ciocc factory, I mean who would have thought? The first ride, just go easy for the first hour or so and get a good feel for the bike. I think about some of my epic crashes, usually right after putting on some new wheels or riding a new bike. I can't wait to see the finished machine. You're going to be loving it!!! Yeah, not posting as much. Working 14 hour days since April but that's finally backing off, just in time for the Tour. Still getting in the riding although tomorrow I'm going with the wife to Wimbledon. Company tix, centre court, champagne lunch, etc. If it stops raining today, we'll get to see Shaparova vs. Serena. I'm not big on tennis but as we're going back to the States after 6 years in the UK, it's too good an offer to turn down. Another cycling nut I work with is coming as well with a radio so we can find out about the Prologue. He's going to see the ITT stage at Alp D'Huez and in fact only booked his hotel a couple of weeks ago. It helps when you're in an office with people from all over the Continent thereby making language skills a non-issue. Take care and enjoy that ride. Bonked 07-02-2004, 11:15 AM definitely take it easy. i always do now after laying a bike down on its first ride a few years back. i'd hate to put that thing on the ground! ps - bought my c40 from mike...he rules and, after my own long wait, i can say that your bike will look MUCH better in person! SPINDAWG 07-02-2004, 02:11 PM She's done and goin' in a box Monday. She weighs about 7kg. and I'm told she can fly! Turned out beautiful, the wheels really set it off! Mike really did a great job! I'll post better pictures and give a ride report when I get my grimmies on her. I'm sure she will disappear right underneath me! And don't worry, I will break her in easy! boneman 07-03-2004, 01:22 AM That is nice. I see they put the Colnago logo on your right chain stay. The other thing I like about the AD-10 is that they don't paint C-50 on the seat stays, instead putting a small Colnago name (or in the case of the C-40, no B-Stay logo but again, the small Colnago name). You'll like the Colnago grip tape that Mike uses. It's a rubbery compound, cushions well but less bulky than the cork. You can get replacement grip tape at Chicagoland in the States. Hmm, hope you get in time for next weekend. That first ride is a mind blower. You'll be wearing that big, silly grin and going for a bigger gear! She's done and goin' in a box Monday.
