Just got a new deda stem/bar its the KOL with the Hydra bars.
This might sound dumb but the bar tops are flat in profile and have indents for the fingers to rest in on the forward edge.
Do I tape them like standard bars or leave the flats bare?

isnt that an executive decision that you have to make? I have seen it done both ways.

Tape is there to improve grip and provide padding. Don't put it anywhere that you want to slip around and feel uncomfortable.
"Finger grips" complicate this otherwise obvious problem, but never fear. Tape them all the way, and ride them for a few weeks. If you decide that comfort and grip are bad things, figure out a spot, run a strip of electrical tape around the bar tape, then cut the electrical tape in half with a knife, cutting right through the bar tape, too. Peel off the excess, then run another wrap of tape over the cut end to finish it off neatly.
