IEDs and materials to make bombs? Extensive books and tapes on how to use the stuff? It also sounds like he may have been the one that called in the bomb threats they mentioned.

This was a seriously messed up young man. I sound like a damned bleeding heart libby but I can't help wondering what horrors he may have gone through as a child to get him to where he was. It could have been just mental illness but some of his writings make you wonder. What a horrible tragedy for everyone involved.
everydaybike 04-18-2007, 07:28 AM Good work BJ digging up the SW paperwork...
What you see, however, is after the fact... COPs try to think about every possible clue... it's what they do. They were looking for any clue to try to determine what this guy is all about... giving the horrible nature of the shootings and how it was executed, it's a normal reaction and one that gives a true picture of the lunatic who took so many lives... He was a very calculating and thought this all out before hand... he purchaded the .22 in February, the G in March... he had a plan! More will come out as time passes and this warrent was a means to answer many questions...
Again... good job!

Sure, he was fantasizing about bombs and IEDs, but he chose those two handguns to carry out his suicidal mission, because they were there, ready to use.

...having curiousity and feeligs. Don't worry, you'll get over it and go back to that closed mind of yours.:D
MR_GRUMPY 04-18-2007, 07:50 AM I heard something on the radio today that said that he was at odds with his mother over his lack of religious "fervor" that she showed. It was probably this and video games and rap music that caused this tragedy.............................(This and the fact that he was clearly "nuts")
MikeBiker 04-18-2007, 08:56 AM If only he had spent more time cycling, he would have become normal.

Did this guy ride? Centerville is only a few miles south of Herndon, where I live. I may have seen this guy on the W&OD.

After reading his play, I'd like to know what he thought about his dad. Lack of religious fervor might mean simple depression. Stalking girls and writing Oedipal plays about sex, pedophilia, doing it doggy style, and being killed is another mattter.

What good would a room full of armed students do if he'd have set off an IED instead? Where there is a will there is a way. Guns won't always keep you safe.
spyderman 04-18-2007, 11:32 AM Page 5 of the warrant lists what was actually siezed from his room. The officer's handwritting is pretty bad, but from what I can make out, it doesn't appear that there were any bomb making materials... or chain saws...

Maybe that was just what they thought they might find? I was looking at the list on page 1...

He wasn't getting an A in English class that's for sure. His "play" posted on smokinggun.com is excruciating. No wonder his teacher wanted him locked up.

Exactly... They found a bomb threat in a note at the scene of one of his shootings...
I think they'll be able to attribute the recent bomb threats to this guy soon. He planned this attack well in advance.
Could you imagine how you'd feel if you were one of his dormmates? Talk about dodging a bullet...
Considering he scratched the serials off the pistols makes me think he wanted to get away, so they couldn't trace the guns to him. Again, he bought a Dremmel drill to do that...
Don't know if it's credible, but I heard he posted on a website the night before "a lot of people are gonna die at vatech tomorrow."
He didn't just snap that day...
