On a shoulder carry, I lift the down tube. My question is, can you lift that connector thingy easily? Will it get slippery when wet and muddy?

Bike looks cool but how does is race?

I agree, looks cool. But I have to admit, I've never seen any slingshots on the road or trail. Granted everyone on the road in the SF Bay Area ride treks (dang lance clones...)

They're located in Grand Rapids, MI. I used to live in MI and saw my fair share of Slingshots on the road and trail. Immediately after posting my first response to this thread, I sent an email to Slingshot and told them of my bike lift concern. I also mentioned that I would be more than happy to review one in a 55 ;).

yeah, i suppose it'd be like me saying I saw lots of Rock Lobsters & Bontragers in Santa Cruz but no one in other parts of the country did...

Cool looking bike. DirtRag just reviewed one of thier 29" SS's. They liked it well enough, but weren't over come with joy about it. That being said, I've always been curious about them and how they rode. Reports are that the Bb flex you'd imagine to be there, is REALLY negligible, hardly noticable. I'm so tall that I never really shoulder the bike anyways. I carry under my armpit for runups, and over obstilcles, you'd better hope you're not next to me or you're gonna get a tire in your tummy. 'Specailly later in the race when I'm tired.
