Well I just got my 2007 Soul 3.0 wheels in the mail. THANKS SEAN! I have yet to ride them because it is raining as usual here in Okinawa Japan during the spring time. But tomorrow is looking better. I don't have a digital scale but I compared them to my Mavic Aksium Races and they feel a bit lighter. If I get out tomorrow I will post pics and my review of how they feel.

Well I finally got a clear day. I did my normal TT route just to keep it fairly flat to feel these wheels out. I put them on my 2006 Felt F55 with Panaracer Race tires.

First impression was that they are plenty stiff for a big guy like me (205lbs)! Higher spoke count, F20 R24, really helps to put my mind at ease. They have a 30mm rim, bladed spokes, and plain black hubs. Advertised weight is 1500 grams with 650 F and 850 R. I would say, without my scale, that it is real close. True and straight out of the box with no pinging during my ride even with a couple of sprints. So tensioning is good in my book.

They sprint well, corner great and the hubs run smooth and when spun the go a very long time. The only thing that I didn't expect was the loud free wheel. Above 25mph you don't hear it but if you are in a pace line you will notice it due to wind not being as intrusive. Definatly not as quite as Shimano hubs but not as quite as Mavic hubs. If they gives you an idea.

All-in-all well worth the $275 that I spent on them. I don't think you could find a better wheel out there for the price, and if you do let me know!! Give them a try you will be impressed. www.bikesoul.com (not a shameless plug just information for those interested, I am no way affiliated with this company, just a happy customer sharing information)

If I don't already have a pair of Reynolds Alta Race, I would be ordering the S3.0 instead of S2.0.
So, did you put the wheels on the scale before you put them on the bike?

I don't have a digital scale. I wish I could have weighed them. I know that the Panaracer tires that I put on are not as light as my Pro Race tires on my other set of wheels. I think once these run their course I will put Pro Races on. That should shave a few grams. I am going to put the 3.0's on my Tri bike and order a set of 2.0's for my Felt F55.
