Greetings

Always lurking but not much posting - these forums have been very helpful to me over the past 2 yrs of road biking. Had to express my excitement about what I bought yesterday.

New 07 Scott CR1 Pro !! The test ride hooked me big time!! Fast as he!! yet quite comfy and compliant! I can't wait for the first real ride. Upgraded with Ksyrium ES wheels and speedplay peds.

I was close to buying the Tarmac Expert, but the Scott is just dialed and spec'd to good out of the box!! I had the wheels as an upgrade to make my Roubaix a bit faster and lighter. Sold the Roubaix to move up. Also, not trying to be a shill, but local Big Ring shop in Golden was awesome and worked with the owner directly.

Interesting point. In all my shopping and test rides I noticed one thing - all the carbon bikes are in short supply - except for Madones - rode one and understand why. As of Tuesday, CR1 pros in a 52 cm were down to 3 in the warehouse in Idaho and almost every dealer in CO was out or down to one themselves. Tarmac experts in the carbon/yellow color were simply not available in warehouse or any local shop. It's only first week of may... is it lack of supply (carbon shortage) or better than expected demand?

I'll post pic whenh I get er home!!!!

Hey, I hear the bikesdirect.com carbons are still plentiful *wink wink*

But I gotta agree - my friend had to wait 2 weeks for the next shipment of Bianchi 928 C2C to arrive before taking delivery.

Wow, they have a nice bike shop in Golden now? When I went to school there in the 70s it was bereft, and no one on campus rode.

lots of new develoment in golden - and a big downtown effort with new commercial and residential all over. Big Ring just moved downtown into one of the new commercial buildings that opened and the shop is really nice. Been to Golden lately? It's not sleepy town anymore - but still a wonderful place.
