Am I the only one blessed to have bad luck with trek wheels. In 91 I had a trek 1100it had matrix wheels they ended up splitting by the spokes. In 2001 I bought a lemond tete de course it had rolf sestriere tagged trek wheels the rear split by the spokes, they replaced them for 75 bucks with bontrager race lights. kept getting flats rim had a flaw inside I filed it and put a wider rim strip it hasnt blown for 2 years. 2 weeks ago the bearings and hub was defective they replaced the rear at no cost but gave a hard ti to the dealer even ntho when the asked the number on the rim and found out that they were on a recall. Why did they givethe run around. I have a pair of campy omegas with thousands of miles and they have held up over all these years. Pear of campy protons for 2 years still are true. I bought a pair of campy zondas they are fantastic.the omegas are on a carbon specialized epic pro,the campy protons and zondas I switch with a douglas precision plus. There had to be a reson why rolf left.

Have a LeMond Tete de Course 2 yrs old. My Bontrager wheels on my last ride started creaking. Took them in to a wheel builder and he found that at least 50% of the spoke/wheel connections were badly cracked. Am now trying to get Bontrager to address this situation. I baby this bike. I ride in some hilly CA countryside. Hate to imagine what could have happened on my ride that had a steep 3.5 mile downhill. I am now somewhat distrustfull of the LeMond-Bontrager name. Be carefull out there I've heard that this set of x-lite wheels have this problem.

Thanks for info. Have a cracked seat by bontrager. Waiting almost 2 months for dealership/lemond to reply. There warranty is worth you know what. Don't get it. You shoudn't have to file anything if product is under bontragers 5 year warranty. Still don't get it.

Typically the warranty issues is your local shop not giving a ****. I can pretty much assure you that I can call my inside guy at Trek, or about any other company and get just about anything trek makes warrantied in a timely manner. For the most Trek puts the warranty issues in the hands of the dealer. If the dealer cares, all they have to do is call Trek and thats pretty much it.
