This was before Basso's admission.
Don't they think Basso would go back to Discovery if he cleared up his problems instead of riding continental?

LUCCA, May 6 (CP) - The Italian-Polish Continental Team Amore & Vita - McDonald's has shown interest in former Discovery Channel rider Ivan Basso and considers to make an offer if the Italian resolves his problems.
Team Manager Ivano Fanini told Tuttobiciweb that "if Basso clarifies his situation with government lawyers and co-operates with CONI, we could imagine engaging him."
However, if the team wants to sign the Giro d'Italia winner, they need a much larger budget. "Naturally having Basso would blow up our budget. That should, however, be no problem. I can count on financial support from main sponsor McDonald's," Fanini explained.
Amore & Vita's best known men are former Mapei rider Graziano Gasparre, Moldavian Ruslan Ivanov, Italian Ivan Quaranta and Giro d'Oro winner Dainius Kairelis.
