Just the heat of the moment, I guess. SilasCL 05-12-2007, 08:46 AM Believe it or not, I was going to pick Liquigas as a surprise team in yesterday's thread. Nice job by them to get some time on Savoldelli, Cunego, Simoni, etc. z ken 05-12-2007, 09:54 AM DiLuca for sure have some nice early leads but ultimately the winner will be decided in the last week of a knee-killing mountains stages. i expect alot of riders to be abanon somewhere between stage 15th and 17th. terzo rene 05-12-2007, 11:05 AM That was one of the most entertaining TT's I've seen. Simoni's off to a bad start vs the competition but it was interesting to see them finish with only their climbers left at the finish. I don't think I've seen that before in a TTT. Mayo's form must not be too bad since he was still there. Other interesting thing was how disgusted Cunego was when he looked back and saw the small time gap at the line. Obviously had high expectations for once in a TT. fornaca68 05-12-2007, 02:38 PM The big loser today was Simoni, no doubt. He won't be able to make up that lost time in the ITT (maybe the mountain TT), so he will need to be even more aggressive on the climbs. Savodelli and DiLuca with today's efforts have sort of given themselves a decent handicap against Cunego and Gibo on the climbs. Will be interesting to see how Popo feels the next few days. He didn't appear to get road rash, but he should have a nasty bruise around his rib cage area. euro-trash 05-12-2007, 04:54 PM Great TTT. I like a technical TTT instead of a straight drag-race. I wish the Tour would pay attention and come up with creative routes. bigpinkt 05-13-2007, 05:33 AM Dr. Ferrari must be proud |
