Took my daughter to visit colleges in New York State this weekend (Finger Lakes area) Never been there before but WOW!! WIde two lane country roads that are smooth with wide, complete breakdown lanes that run for miles and miles. For example, the road (96??) from Geneva to Ithaca, about an hour drive, just perfect. What a far cry in width and quality from Massachusetts roads....would make for a great cycling vacation, especially with all the wineries :p

OK riding but watch out for loose dogs.

before my time here; except for the dog, looks like a great trip. Great pix. Your notes also mentioned how CLEAN everything was, I forgot to mention that, but there was no trash anywhere on the roads either. THey all looked like they were just paved and just swept. I would definitely follow in your footsteps and do a cycling trip there. If my daughter goes to school in the area (knock wood), I will have an excuse....
