Hi,
I have a Trek 1000 road bike and I am in the preliminary stages of planning a touring trip. I am wondering however if my bike would be able to accomodate such a journey. For example, would my road bike be able to handle the added weight and is there anything I can do to improve the situation i.e. getting wider tires (I have 25mm right now)? I am looking forward to this trip, but I don't want to sacrifice my bike at it's expense.
