Hello people I am the owner of a new cannondale cyclocross 3 and very new to cycling. I plan to use my bike to commute to work only about 10 miles round trip five days a week. However, I also want to start racing and wanted to know what would be some good upgrades to make, any ideas would be great.
Thanks for any help!!!
:D

When people want to upgrade but don't know what, I usually suggest to keep the bike as it is and wait till you have used it for some time, then you'll probably figure out what you don't like, what you do like. Or upgrade as parts wear out. Unexperienced riders don't always feel the difference between components, let experience sink in and you'll know what to do.

I would maybe get some road tires for your commutes to save the little knobs of the cross tires, they can melt really fast on pavement. Just put them back when you hit the dirt.

I would also put some Crank Brothers Eggbeaters on it if you don't already have some pedals, they are light and work great in mud. Since you will run in mud and dirt and thus clog the cleats of shoes everytime you hop off the bike, these are the pedals to get, they are not affected by mud and snow like most other pedals.

Then you can look at saving some weight here and there but let yourself the time to get a feel of the whole bike.

Have fun and ride the hell out of it!
