I just tried and bought a fixie for the first time yesterday. What a blast. The bike is an old Fuji road bike that has been converted into a fixie. It took me a little bit to get used to not being able to coast but talk about fun. I love riding but I don't remember having this much fun riding since I was a kid. I still have to do some work to dial the bike in -- throw on a different saddle and swap out the bars (it has flat Mountain bikke bars with a mountain bike brake lever - I think I will try the van dessel moustache bars).

The fun of riding a fixie is probably the most enjoyable part.

I felt the same as you about a year ago & I'm still reaching for the fixie more often than the other bikes.

I on the other hand, have to justify my bike collection to the Mrs. with the old "they all do something different" argument. FG, cross, road, hardtail mtn, FS mtn...that's it so far.

I will add that of my ~1600 mi YTD, 787mi (49.1%) of them have been on the FG.
