A fine, fine man by anyone's standards. Honest, sincere, quick with a handshake and a smile. A true conservative. He took his job seriously and considered it an honor to serve the people of Wyoming.
Just three weeks ago, I visited with him in DC. He was healthy and strong, looking forward to the important work he had to do in the Senate. When we discussed his health and he told me that "My platelets aren't coming up the way they should be", I had a bad, bad feeling about where it was heading.
Cancer is a cruel, indiscriminate killer. Craig issued press releases while he was going through his second round of chemo, working right to the end. He really thought he could whip this thing. He will be sorely missed.
