Newbie mech here just to qualifiy...Assembled my new ride, Ridley Damocles with full Campy record but I have some concerns/questions about the rear derailleur. Basically with the bike shifting properly the low limit rd screw is fully screwed in and the upper limit screw is fully out.
The screws provide no adjustment, instead relying on the physical travel limits of the derailleur to manage range of motion. Just by coincidence the shifting functions properly. Has anyone else experienced this? Running 10spd 12-23 campy on Mavic SSCs, all new and straight!

Did you set the stops with the cable removed?

Don't recall...I'm guessing that might make a difference?

You better believe it. Fix it now before it gets expensive

ok...with cable off and low limit screwed all the way in, just barely enough limit! lots of chatter, final tweak must be made with barrel adjustment therefore pulling derailleur just off the stop with cable tension! Upper limit still backed off all the way!

I'm wondering if you have the correct derailleur. It almost sounds like it could be a 9 spd. der. being used on a 10 spd.

no its definitely a 10sp campy carbon/ti rear derailleur...it says 10 speed on the housing!
