I have a late 80s Univega that I am converting to fixed gear. The frame requires a 26.8 mm seatpost. I am looking for suggestions for a seatpost for the build. My requirements are:

Lots of setback.
Two bolt clamp design

I have FSA SL 220 posts on my other bikes and really like them. Unfortunately, this model is not available in 26.8.

Thank you in advance for your help.

soup, thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I am lookin for about twice the setback of the Thomson. The setback on the Thomson is 16 mm. The published information that I have seen varies on the FSA SL 220 but it is somewhere beteeen 32 and 35 mm.

I think your best bet would be the FSA and a shim.

Sorry about the typo in my original post, now corrected. The size I need is 26.8 (not 28.6). The smallest size that FSA makes is 27.2. The rub here is that no amount of shimming will make the 27.2 post a smaller size.

I think Titec makes a 26.8 post. Can't tell from this:

Soup, thanks again. I appreciate your efforts to help. Unfortunately, I far as I can tell this seatpost is only available in 27.2. The Titec website is less than complete. Universal Cycles only carries this seatpost in 27.2.

UC carries such a wide variety of stuff that I am assuming that 27.2 is the only size, but will inquire with Titec to make sure.

I've got the older version of this titec (hellbent model) seatpost, they did make them in 26.8. not light or pretty, but gets the job done if you need lots of setback.
here's a new style one on fleabay...

the 2006 version of the easton ea70 has about 30mm setback, but it's a single bolt. looks like the current ec70 head.

Go to www.wallbike.com. They sell two different styles of seatposts with A LOT of setback, one a Kalloy and the other CLB. The CLB is much nicer finish but more expensive and both have about the same amount of setback. Wall Bike sells them because they also specialize in Brooks Saddles, which need a seatpost with a lot of setback for many frames. They also offer these seatposts in a range of sizes. I've got the CLB (which I bought used), and it is a very nicely finish seatpost with mucho setback.
