I have just replaced the DA9 group with 2003 Record group on my C40, it's got everything Record (including the Record 10 chain) except the American Classic conversion cassettes (12-25) in order to save the DA wheels. I am a little disappointed with the shifting which is not as smooth as DA9. Should I try to run the conversion cassettes with DA9 chain ?

Try it - some riders I know use DA9 chains happily with campy 10sp cassettes. I tried it with no success. I could try to work out why but would rather go riding. I believe people have found that 10sp wipperman chains work well with the AC conversion cassette .

The shifting quality is only a little less than perfect. I will probably try the DA9 chain after the Recork 10 chain is weared out. I am also thinking about a pair of new wheels specially for the Record 10 group, I will post a new thread in this forum.
