... Why are people so outraged when athletes dope? I mean, think about it. If I am butt ugly, have low self-esteem and can't get a broad, I might head down to the plastic surgeon, have him fix my nose, my cheekbones, my eyes, and perhaps I might win the get pu$$y competition.

If I have no talent, no self-esteem, and can't win a race, I might head down to the sports medicine MD and have him boost me up with some transfusions, EPO, steroids, hgh etc and perhaps I might win the money and fame sports competition.

I don't lie awake at night, contemplating how wrong it is that I can get pu$$y due to medical enhancement, why should I feel sorry that I can win due to medical enhancement?

It doesn't make any sense.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand I'd like for it to all be clean, but the fact is I think all "top cyclists" are likely doping, so in essence it's an "even playing field" anyway.

My hard feelings come from people that bash on cycling as a "doper's sport", when in reality it's just that cycling is more proactive about busting people than in any other sport (barring perhaps the Olympics).

the only sport I've ever followed at all is cycling. When I took cycling up 7 or eight years ago, I discovered there was bike racing, the crit two blocks from home on up to the TdF.

I don't know which annoys me the most, the riders being dishonest with me or the crappy way they are treated by the various controlling agencies. But the sum of this equation is I didn't support the ToC when it came through this year and won't be adding any viewers to the broadcast races. There is no honor.

At least Pro Wrestling Entertainment is honest about it all being a farce.

No, it's not an even playing field.

When some athletes can afford a $30,000 a year PED habit, and most cannot, it's not an even playing field. Sure, if you like competition between 4-5 guys who are doped to the gills with the best stuff, while the rest are fighting for scaps, that's great. It's not an even playing field by any means.

Second, it encourages younger and younger athletes to start up the PED habit and forces them to think that, without drugs, one cannot compete.

For me, this is where the argument against performance enhancing drugs starts to get forceful. If drugs are being used at the top level, then they will be used at all levels. Just like carbon fiber, power meters, aero bars, etc.

I believe the logic also extends to pros who would be required to take drugs. If they're allowed, then everyone will have to do it or they don't make the team. If they have to take drugs, then unscrupulous teams will make them take dangerous combinations. So, if you're allowed to take drugs, then you will be made to take drugs that will damage your health. That's just wrong.
