I have the opportunity to purchase one of the following wheelsets. I'm hoping I could get some more experienced advice. Which is a better deal? Which set would be better for cx? Would I later regret purchasing the heavier wheelset? The 206g doesn't seem like a big difference, on it's own but everything adds up. Is there anything else that I might want to consider; other deciding factors or other alternatives?

Get the Shimanos. They are cheaper and lighter. You won't be too bummed if you destroy them. I've heard anecdotal evidence that they hold up pretty well.

However, I feel compelled to mention in any wheel thread that a hand built set of wheels will beat the pants off prebuilt/fancy/boutique wheels most of the time.

Word. I just got a new set of Ultegra 32h 3x Mavic CXP for $200 on ebay. These things will definitely do the job for training and racing if you like.

Now to decide on which set of tubulars on ebay to pick up for my race wheels.:D

I've always been partial to Mavic Heliums and you can usually find them on ebay. For a factory built set of wheels they've always worked for me.
