McQuaid has apparently said Jaksche is just an old pro looking for a pay day and the UCI is considering a lawsuit.

As much as I think the UCI may have turned some kind of corner and is trying to fight doping, more than anything, so that these scandals stop happening on a regular basis, it's clear McQuaid is cut from the same mold as Verbruggen. They want the omerta to remain in place, the last thing they want is riders talking about how dirty the sport is, even if it contributes to cleaning up the sport.

I say they're just bluffing. A lawsuit brings more attention and they most likely don't want a bunch of lawyers poking their noses into certain places.

2 faced retards [uci].

I some how believe what Jaksche has offered up. Seems like the real deal.

Just like everything Manzano said turned out to be true - and he implicated UCI officials in tipping off the doctors of certain teams (including Discovery) when tests were going to happen...

McQuaid is an idiot - his charter is a knee jerk reaction and a too little too late joke.

The only thing that can save the sport is for all the old dopers involved at all levels to get the boot

They are unfortunately reaping what they sowed when they didn't address the endemic doping problem following the '97-'98 TVM and Festina revelations. They could have managed it and taken care of it in house, but instead they did almost nothing and now they are having change forced on them by the creation of WADA and the cops getting involved in various countries.
