Hi, I mostly mountain bike and know little to nothing about road bikes so was looking for a little insight. I occasionally see someone list an absolute piece of ancient crap for ten times it's value on craiglist. I initially thought this might be such a bike but looked it up and it does seem to have good reviews. But on the other hand it is quite old. Is this bike worth what the seller is asking?
I have an image of the posting here since it will probably go dead at some point soon.
I have no idea what a fair price is but for someone looking to get into road cycling it doesn't matter. $1 would be too much. For argument sake let's say it's a good deal. It would be kinda like someone looking to get into hockey getting a good deal on speed skates.
2001 and it's "quite old"? Jeez, my "modern" road bike's frame was made in 1986! Even my 1978 Trek 710 I hardly consider "old". Yeah, my 1970-ish Raleigh is "old", but that's why I bought it.....
