(my other question was already answered so) Air compressor for bike tires

Can you use an air compressor built for shrader valved bikes/cars etc on your road bike? If you have one of those adapters would it be safe to use?

    To answer your question "yes"
Would I use an air compressor to pump up my road bike tires? Having an air compressor I answer this with:
No, I use a floor pump.

Do you mean air compressors or tire inflators? The reason I ask is because some air compressors are rated at 100 PSI while others put out 400 PSI, so I'd advise against the latter - or anything much above 150 PSI.

    IME tire inflators like this:
Amazon.com: Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator: Home Improvement
suite the purpose, but use care not to overinflate because it's rated at 160 PSI.

I use a Craftsman 5 gallon air compressor for my tires. It has an outbound pressure setting that works out well since I can just set it to 110psi and it will inflate the tires to that level.

That being said, I am going to get a floor pump because it is easier to get a reading and fine tune the pressure since I am not sold on those adapters. Wonder if they make an air compressor attachment that will inflate a Presta valve?

You can buy a Silca head for Presta valves and then either build a "cheater" using a Schraeder valve, some pressure hose, and hose clamps or just put the Silca head on your existing compressor hose line.
