Hi, lost a ball bearing on an old set of ultegra brakes, the one from the quick release lever. Anyone know what size it is so I can order more. Checked the shimano tech docs but can't find it and a decent micrometer would cost about the same an new brakes.
Thanks.
If you still have the spring, you've got a size gauge to take to a shop when looking for that detent ball replacement. The ball needs to be a fairly forceful press fit into the first winding of the spring.
For what it's worth: the QR lever will still work without the detent (not bearing) ball. All you lose is the ability to ride around with the QR lever in a position other than fully closed or fully open. People do, but I really don't know why.
