    2003 Eddy Merckx Race frame

Anyone knows about this frame? I'm planning on buying, but I hear it is a bit more close to a touring bike than a racing bike. Help!

One man's opinion. Also see the 2004 comments if it is the same geometry.

I have one that I am building up right now, it is a 05 with a sloping top tube, they also come with classic geometry too. The seat tube is relaxed more than most other framsets out there, but that can be offset with a seatpost that has less offset than most or zero offset. Most Merckx's have a bit longer top tubes also for a given frame size, but from everyone that I heard from that are very stable racing bikes that have an excellent road feel to them. I really doubt that it would feel a touring bike in any way to most people! For an aluminum/carbon type of frame I don't think you can do too much better.
