Anyone dealt/knows hanks wheels in FLorida ?

    Hi there !

Does anyone know or had dealings with hankswheels.com supposedly based in Miami and offering high-end bikes (Specialized S-Works ....) at extremely low prices ? Are they a scam ?

    Insights are welcome !

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Do the price for a Specialized S-Works vary all that much from shop to shop? I assume Specialized sets their pricing.

    1000000000000000% Scam

There's no payment option on their site. When you "place order" you don't pay, simply enter your email. I assume you then get an email to solicit funds. I used a fake email.
You can make your payment directly into our bank account
Anytime you see that.... RUN AWAY

And of course the tell tale:

They're registered in Nigeria. (That means RUN AWAY)
Site is only 167 days old.

    That's what I suspect indeed!

A specialized tarmac pro race, dura-ace mounted at 2500$ with Roval CL40 carbon wheels .... they pretend they have a shop in Miami and accept paypal payments ..

They say they accept Paypal. But there's no Buy With Paypal option. I suspect when you get the email soliciting payment, there will be some reason why you can't use paypal, or they'll offer you an even "better deal" to deposit into their bank account instead.

I don't think Spec allows on-line sales in the US. So right off the bat best case is they are unethical and/or selling knock offs.
