    Bianchi serial# year?

    Good Morning All,

This is my first post to this group...Just got this Bianchi. The Serial #B009140 is on the bottom bracket. It was represented to me as a 1986 model. It has complete Campy Group and Columbus tubing. Any idea of the vintage of this one?

    Thanks

    Mark

Without a photo or even a model name good luck. Which Campy parts? Columbus steel or aluminum? Help us out a bit w/ some info. I'd think the only people that would have access to serial # info would be working at Bianchi USA.

Hopefully, I attached this photo correctly. First time trying to do this.

    Thanks

You're getting there. Model? Again...which Campy group? Looks like mid-late 90's to me.

Normally, I would guess Campy Chorus but I don't see any markings other than the logo. I am about to put it back together. Here are the components.

Campy introduced integrated shift/brake levers in '92. Those parts aren't Record, but some lower range group. I'm sticking with mid 90's as your bike still has downtube shifters and a quill stem(which looks like it war replaced at some point, probably came w/ a slimmer polished aluminum stem). Nice wheels, those Ambrosio rims are cool.

Looks like a Columbus SBX frame that I had in the early 90's. I had those Ambrosio Elite rims as well. Mine was built with Chorus, but they said so making me think your component group is older than the frame.

Looks the be in terrific shape. Enjoy. Miss mine.
