    Cervelo R2.5 2004

    Hi Everyone,
seems that there are mixed feelings about the R2.5 and R3 on this forum.
I am looking at a used 150 miles. R 2.5 a 2004 model and I ran the serial number at Cervelo to see if it was a recalled unit and it said it was not.
Is there any way they will provide warranty if it comes apart? I am guessing if the owner registered it I would be out of luck.

I'd ask Cervelo before buying. I love my R3 and I think the R2.5 is a better looking frame, but I'd want to be really sure that it was covered under warranty before I bought one. Unless the price was low enough that I'd be ok with throwing the frame in the trash in a year.

The R2.5 was known to have many issues with the bottom bracket cups seperating. It happened twice to a fellow forum member. Unless you have a warranty and can afford to be a long time without your frame I would think twice no matter what the price.
For my next trick I will now set myself on fire!
