Looking for steel road frame for Interal Gear hub under $500

There aren't very many hills in my part of the city so I am tempted to build a steel frame bike with a single crank and an internally geared hub. Leaning away from a fixie just in case, plus I am not in very good physical shape currently... Would really like to use the Shimano Alfine 8spd. Can anyone suggest a frame that will fit that rear hub? I know I need 135mm backspacing but most road frames I have seen are 120-130mm. I don't want to spend more than $500 and looking for something that is lightweight. Also would prefer something with a straight blade steel or carbon fork.

Have you looked at the Soma "Roadie" frames and/or Surly (Pacer and possibly others)? Or how about a Salsa Casseroll? All of those come in around the pricepoint you're looking at, if I recall. None are particularly lightweight...but light enough.

    Here you go:

    Civia Cycles

Universal Cycles has the frame for $495 and complete bikes for $1295 for complete 8spd bike.

Are you looking to build this up because you've already got the hub? Any specific reason you want to go steel? I ask because the Raleigh Cadent i8 might fit perfectly with what you want outside of the fact that it is an alumninum frame with a carbon fork. REI had these the other week onsale for ~$600.
