lousy this vs that post : Tarmac Sworks vs Wilier 101sr
I hate to post this and I swear it's the first time I do.
Looking to take the next step and let my good SL3 Roubaix Expert go.
I'm at my 4th Specialized bike ( 3 mtb,1 road) and I can honestly say that these bikes fit my body like a glove,I've always felt 100% confident at the very first ride. As an italian living in Italy you know the story : old time riders keep telling you if you go road bike you need to get an italian road bike, they're a completely different planet ( ). Enter the 2013 101sr. I love that bad@ss look, but I love the "feel at home" thingy I get from Specy..
decisions,decisions,decisions...

I'm not brand loyal and have found (for me) the frames I ride are very close in feel and performance. For example, I'm coming off a Colnago CX-1 frame with Sram Red to a Felt FC frame which I transfered the group to. Yes, they feel slightly different but both in a very good way. How you fit the bike is more important to me and with all the different options for setback posts, different length and angled stems and even spacers, one can achieve the same fit from bike to bike easily. What I'm trying to say is I could ride and be happy on any bike from any given manufacturer in any tier. Tier meaning top of the line v. mid level v. entry level line of bikes.
Just a guess but I'm sure you'd be very happy on the Wilier just as you'd be happy on the Specialized. Change isn't always a bad thing and you might find that your comfort with Specialized is really unfounded. Much like growing up raised under a certain religion. It's all you know and so something different doesn't seem necessary, justified or right.
Best of luck with your decision. I think it's a great problem to have. Enjoy!

Test both. Don't be set on one brand or country. Heard some riders mocking all groupsets other than Campy. They sound obnoxious. Very happy with SRAM Red on my Tarmac.

I don't think you could make a bad choice between the two, They both make fine products. Personally for my next ride i plan to think outside of the box a bit and roll with Ti made with love in Steamboat Springs Co, ; )

There's nothing wrong with going with what you know works. This is especially true for fit items such as bibs, shoes, saddles, even handlebars.
But for frames, I kind of agree with woodys737.... my general philosophy - if I even have one - is to try new stuff when it's time to get something new. The one and only reason I went with Sram on my current bike build. And I'm happy I did.
I have absolutely no bias against Specialized (which is odd because I have a fairly irrational bias against Trek!). But if it were me, I'd at least take a look at the Willier or some other make, just for something different. If after that you really think the Specialized is the way to go, well then, there you have it!
