While riding the bike for the the very first time - at mile 35 of a 37mi ride - I was bombing down one of my favorite hills at about 40mph, when my phone managed to pop out of from my jacket pocket. Near as i can determine, it kicked off my foot/leg and into the rear wheel where the spokes then jammed it into the left seat stay.
In >3,000mi this year I've never had my phone fall out of a jersey pocket. Not even close. All I can figure is that perhaps with the new bike being more "aggressive" geometry (and the stem slammed down to boot) than my Specialized Secteur that perhaps I got my shoulders/torso lower in a downhill tuck position than before and that caused the rear pocket to be closer to horizontal... allowing the phone to slide out.
