Black Sheep Bikes has a nice one or two or three.

Retrotec might be a bit more cost effective.

I rue the fact that I didn't pick up a Newsboy back in the day.

That's gonna cost as much as the Merlin he says he doesn't have $$ for though.

I know. Probably even more. But he's a young man, he can recover financially. Worst case his kids go to a state school.

Don't get one of those cheap beach cruisers. It'll fall apart in a week. Felt and Electra make nice ones

I don't know if you want a cruiser or a mountain bike, but Trek/Fisher have the sawyer.

Comes as a geared complete bike, but is single speedable. 1400 dollars.

I saw a frame similar but it's from a China supplier and if you are comfortable ordering from there take a look at it here.

Lynskey made a 29er cruiser recently. Not on the website now, but google turns up a few options. Pricey, though.

I'm in the process of buying a custom ti Newsboy style frame from XACD. Check out the CAD drawing for the frame.

I just saw one in person today. It was at my LBS. One of the guys owned it and was giving me the run down. It has double top tubes. Which look very vintage. I can't say that about the rest of it. It kind of reminds me of 29er meets Klunker. It really is a nice bike. Price is about $1,499 Wait until the end of the season and see if you can do better.
