Replacing internal tubing on a Focus Izalco

Just replaced the inner and outer cables on my Focus Izalco, but shifting is very stiff. I think the internal tubing (liner) needs replacing. I already managed to replace the tubing for the front derailleur cable, but am still struggling with the rear. How do I get the tubing out? Can I access it from the bottom bracket? Any tips?

What is your method for cutting and preparing the ends of the housing?
    use a torque wrench

Cutting was done using a Parktool CN-10 cable cutter. Ends opened up with a nail and filed. If I run a full length housing from shifter to derailleur (external to the frame), it shifts very smoothly.

I think I found what the problem is. Apparently, the housing needs to be installed without a ferrule at the frame exit near the rear derailleur. Can anybody confirm this? After installing the housing without a ferrule, it shifts smoothly... It seems that the cable with ferrule does not fit well in the frame exit, leading to a misalignment between inner and outer cable...

99.9% of the time you'll need ferrules when running shift housing into and out of frames. Very few exceptions to this, a few but not many.

I used ferrules on my Ergoride. I haven't tried replacing the liners (think I would go Etap first) but I don't see that when I had the BB out it provided any particular access to the tubing. My FD can be a little stiff (doesn't always like to return when shifting to the inner ring) and I suspect the bend at the BB in the liner tube might be an issue.

Another thing is there is 1.1 and 1.2 mm shift cable. SRAM says to use 1.1 but I bought a cable kit (Yokozuna) and found out it provides 1.2. which I installed. So that may make a difference too (haven't bothered to get some 1.1 cable to compare).
