    Surly Cross or Soma Wolverine?

Trying to decide which frame to build up. Soma a bit more expensive. Want to use it for road and gravel. Suggestions?

NEITHER... Get a bike actually made to do what you want to do.

One clearly is made for the hipster who needs a single speed belt drive, cause he hates hills, only rides smooth flat pavement from his class to his dorm.

The other well... it's a cross bike that hasn't evolved with the times, seems to be a design from 10 years ago.

Jamis makes a Chromoly Renegade with carbon fork, disc ready. The Expat is only $1199, can switch out the parts for what you want. Jamis clearly put in some thought into the a frame that could be fast on the road and fit a 36 tire for gravel fun. Surly just looks like they made the most generic steel frame with garbage V brakes.
