    Time Edge Racer

I can get a very good deal on a Time Edge Racer (size Large)
Is this frame stiff enough to be raced?
(I was reading in a review that the tester could flex the toptube)
I am racing elite races (Europe).
I am not very powerfull (max Power 1000-1100W) for 180cm and 66kgs.
    Any experiences?

I test rode one and it seems stiff like most of Time bikes.
It doesn't ride as nice as Times higher end frames but its a lot less money.
    I weigh 62kg.
    Can you test ride it?

Since it is a frame only, I can not testride it.
However I could drive to Paris and test an Edge Pulse (Edge racer is no longer in production) at Timesquare ( http://www.timesport.fr/time-square.0.17.0.0.html ).
This would take me whole day because Paris is about 4 hours from here by car.
I don't think I have Time to do this.

I have Edge First for almost 3 years now (2007 model). I weigh 70kg and ride size small (54cm top tube). My height is 174cm i.e. ~6cm shorter than you. I think Edge First frame is same as Edge Racer frame apart from colour and perhaps forks. It is very comfortable frame and I dont feel any problems with stiffness but I dont race, I ride for fitness only. The main thing is the geometry (angles and tube lengths) and size - if it fits you then it will work. I know a guy with VRX Pro who used to ride Edge and he said Edge was more comfortable to ride but VRX Pro felt more stiff, less forgiving. So it depends what kind of races you are participating it. Edge is great for long events or on poor roads or stage races, I think but VRX Pro may be better for criteriums.

My experience has been great. I am a bit bigger 185cm / 84kg. It sprints very well. Or I should say I sprint well on it. I do club rides now (I'm 50) and I am always one of the top two in the ride sprints. However, the best attribute is comfort. Five hours in the saddle is no big deal. I oniginally had a Edge Pulse First. I did crack a head lug sprinting. They replaced it with the Edge Pulse. I really can't tell any difference.
