Tom Ritchey - Old Skool - New School

I stumbled on this video on the Ritcheylogic.com site.

Tom has been one of my heroes for decades. I still own the Ritchey Commando that Tom built for me in 1984.

I had a custom P23 that he made for me back in the early 90s. Sadly it was stolen and never recovered.

Years ago I worked in a bike shop that had a small first floor entrance but a huge second floor where we displayed all the bikes. It was sort of a hassle moving bikes up and down the stairs, but it did cut down on loses.

Along the stairs was a huge expanse of wall that the owner had painted with the shop's logo. After a while some local celebrities and pro athlete's autographs started to appear under the logo, then one afternoon we had Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, and Tom Ritchey's autographs on the wall. They all came in with different groups but within about 90 minutes of each other. I got to meet Gary Fisher and Joe Breeze, but I missed Tom Ritchey as I was closing the sale of a Fisher designed bike. I joke that Gary Fisher prevented me from meeting Tom Ritchey.
