Trek Alpha 1.2 10 Speed Cassette?

    Hi Folks,

Just a quick one - looking to upgrade my old alpha 1.2 (2010) model so I can use it as a winter training bike, it currently has a 9 speed cassette but I need to know if the frame size will take a 10 speed cassette. If so will upgrade to 105's all round.

Love this bike - served me well,

    Rob

FTFY. It's referred to as "105". Yes, your frame and rear wheel if currently 9 speed will work just fine w/ 10 speed parts. Upgrade away

  16. You are in it this far, get the bottom bracket. You will probably need it unless you are removing a Shimano crank with a 24mm spindle.

Wow - quick reply this is great. I am actually going to change the crank to a compact - this is the link Shimano 105 5750 Compact 10sp Chainset | Chain Reaction Cycles - can you please advise what one is best - not sure if I should be getting a 170mm or 175 etc - also not sure what exactlly I sould be ordering in terms of a bracket and bolt - very confusing. I would be for ever indebted if you could see on the same site do they have these and send on the links - apologies for the request but I am very new to this - as you can tell.

    Many Thanks,

    Rob
