    Trek FX 7.3 2008 vs 2009

    Hi

I was about to buy a 2008 and it seems that the 2009 is either out or coming out.

The question is what is the difference between them or is this just mental masturbation.

I will be using the bike as a casual rider for trips from 5 to 25 miles at a time and mostly on bike paths and streets.

    No racing.

    Thanks

    Alan

    According to the Trek website

The 2009 has a lighter frame and a nicer seat. It also looks like it's a little more expensive with new paint.

I have a 2008 7.6, but I did ride the 2008 7.3 quite a bit while deciding which to buy. I personally like the 2008 paint better, and for what it is, I didn't feel like it was too heavy. The saddle was awful though.

I guess the bottom line is (as always) test ride them both if possible. Buy the one that is most comfortable and best suits your budget. I really like my 7.6, and though it wasn't originally bought for the purpose, it has become my errand bike. I added a nice rear rack and a comfy saddle. I also use it on the trainer more than my road bike...
