    9 sp Ergo Gear Question

I recently picked up a set of second gen Ergo shifters. They are 9 sp but how can I tell if they're the pre 2000 or later? Are the gears stamped differently?

I don't know how you can tell the difference. But it does not make a whole lot of difference. I've used the pre 2000 Chorus levers with post 2000 rear derailleur successfully. Shifting was not quite as good. But still OK.

I just passed on a set that were on NH CL cheap, they were the 1998 ones pre ergo and not able to be updated to 10 speed. The easiest way to tell is if the shift levers are silver and have holes in them they are 1998.

Also check out Campy's website they still have all of the spare parts catalogs from that era.

That's the problem I'm having now. It works but not well. At least not what I've come to expect Campy to work like.
