I just installed a Record UT crank and was wondering if somebody could verify if what I am seeing is normal or not? After installing the crank with no chain on I spin the crank and it does not free turn for very long. What I mean is when pushing one crank arm it comes to a stop after one to one and half revolutions. Obviously the force i am using is not much but compared to my square taper chorus crank in another frame that spins really freely like it is almost loose. The Record crank is very smooth though. I am thinking it has to do with break in and the amount of grease used in the bearings. loaded them up. Can someone with more experience than me chime in. This is my first outboard bearing crank. Been riding Chorus square taper 9sp for years now. Square taper has numerous miles on it.
