    Budget cx frame

Looking for a budget priced cyclocross frame in 54cm. Can be steel or aluminum. Disc or cantilever. Prefer SS ready but I am open to other options

The least expensive that I know of is from Nashbar: Nashbar Cyclocross Frame

I bought one to build a racks-n-fenders around town/bad weather bike but haven't gathered all the parts yet. I think it's a good frame for the money (good alignment, the welds and paint are perfect) and the reviews are positive.
The matching carbon fork is $129 but Nashbar always has sales of 20-25% off (today is 23% off) so you can get both pieces for around $250.

I bought a nice Giant TCX frame for $150 off Craigslist, good place to shop if you can be patient.

I kept my eye out for about 9 months before I found one I liked at a good price. If you can wait and you live in an area with a fair amount of cyclists, eventually something will probably show up - just takes time.

I will keep looking. The frame doesn't have to be specifically for cx. It can be more like a gravel grinder too
