    Buildup dreamin' (TA P5V)

Sunny Saturday morning in SoCal. Bambina in the house. Working from home. The 6-month wait for a custom frame is stretching towards 8. Patience.

At least I have a few shiny parts in hand to get daydreaming. There aren't many good photos of the new run of TA Pro-5-Vis cranks, so here's a quick snapshot.

...but not nearly so top-end. i just wanted one special component, and the idea that the TA allows the narrowest tread (q-factor) is appealing. the cranks aren't really any costlier than a nice upper-end carbon model, but infinitely more versatile (and classy). i'm a tad concerned that the rest of the components (Ultegra level) will look cheesy next to the crank, but there are worse things in life!

should i worry about heel strike with "high profile" rear cantilevers on a road bike? tektro has those neat CR-720s for about $30...
