Commuting bags are the costly pet toys of the bike world

I've spent all kinds of $$ on Chrome, Crumpler, etc. to find the *perfect* bag to ride with.

Turns out all I needed was the free bag from a vendor at Interbike.

Buy a fancy laser and all the cat wants is a grocery bag to crawl in to.

Its light, holds a change of clothes + flat repair with room to spare. I don't notice the straps and it doesn't heat up my back. I did find out the hard way that its not waterproof though.

We have one of those (free too although labeled "Santana"), those straps really cut into you if you overload it. We use a freebie carabiner to get the straps a little closer together across the chest-seems more comfortable.

Otherwise it really is a fine bag that unloaded will easily fit into a jersey pocket.

Never did think it was waterproof.

Still like my Chrome bag though.

I think OP's point is that this bag was free, light and carries just enough stuff to commute with.

With those positives, I think it is obvious that this bag does not have a lot of practical features. In other words, I would like to see a gallon of milk in that banana hammock.
