Folding bike recomendations
Well my girlfriends bus route is going to be canceled so she's making the move to commute by bike now. She's looking for a folding bike so keep in her office. I know absolutely nothing about folding bikes so what are good brands? What should we be looking for? Does it matter whether the rider is female? Etc
Looking for a low or mid level priced bike too. Thanks

bikeforums.net has a section that discusses folding bikes. Look there for more help. Good Luck.

My LBS is eliminating all of their folders (claiming reliability issues)- except for the Bromptons- the owner just bought a pair for his wife and himself..........

"Strida" is a premium entrant. Very, very cool. Folds tiny, 20 lbs, belt instead of chain so you don't grease yourself folding it. 800 bucks, though, so you have to really plan to be using it.

I like my Bike Friday Pocket Companion. It doesn't fold fast like the Tikit, but it can fit in a suitcase or bag (and no airline charge!).

Ya, what ATP said...!

How many miles is the ride and what is your price point? Dahon definitely has the most options and I see them used all the time on both eBay and CL. I'm looking for a Jetstream when one become available in my area.
