    My trip to Copenhagen

I just got back from three days in Copenhagen and it was an eye opening experience. There is no doubt I could yammer for days on my thoughts around cycling culture there. It was like going to cycling heaven. When you see the amount of bikes at the train station and on the streets it is mind boggling. There are bikes everywhere. I can't count how many bike shops there are.

A few photos of the bike parking and some cyclist in my travels. This is just one of about six outdoor parking lots at Central Station, with another indoor close by.

I actually didn't, though I had every intention to. Too much to see and too little time, maybe next time.

    Cool.

Very cool. My wife and I did a bike tour in the Czech Republic and Germany last month and I am longing for the cycling culture.

Do they lock their bikes up, or are people actually trustworthy over there? I can't see any locks in the pictures.

They have these locks that just lock the back wheel to the frame. Kind of like one hand cuff. You can pick up any one of those bikes and walk off with it. I guess people just don't steal bikes to any great extent. The whole time I was there I saw two Kyrptonite locks and both of them were on American bikes (Treks).

As for helmet use, you see a few maybe around 2-3% of the population that I saw. Most bike stores carry a few but nothing like you would see in North America.
