Am I lost or did I screw up ?

My bike has sora shifters 3 X 9 capability, but set up stock on my 2008 Masi Alare as a 2 X 9 50/34 with 12/25 cassette. I have pretty much upgraded/rebuilt everything but drive train. Now it is time for that, I need to go with a triple crankset (I suck climbing). I have ordered a 52/42/30 crankset, now I have a chance at picking up an Ultegra 10-Speed FD-6603 Triple Front derailleur for $40.00 shipped. Will it work ? I was looking at Tiagra and 105 but their chain ring capacity is only 50 tooth according to the specs. I am having a hard time finding a triple derailleur that will work.
On to the rear derailleur, will one slated for 10 speed work on 9 by setting the limiters ? or will have to find a 9 specific ? Also can I use a short, medium, or long cage ? The length of the cage determines rear large cog capacity right ?
Finally I guess a chain, I have no flippin idea there.
Thanks for any help in advance I think I need all I can get.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but that Ultegra 6603 is designed to work with the 52/39/30 chain rings. 9 speed triple derailleurs, other than the Dura Ace seem to work great with 10-speed cranksets, but the reverse does not. But someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I thought.
