Assembly of Surly CC complete bike kit
I ordered a Surly Cross-check complete from the one bike shop in Korea that sells them and found out today that it's arrived in country. The shop wanted to put everything together and have me come and retrieve it, but it's 4 hours away by high speed train and my schedule won't allow it. So, I told them to go ahead and ship it to me unassembled.
Now, I know the fork comes uncut and the headset needs to be attached, but what else will need to be done and how long does it take? Also, how much does something like this normally cost at a LBS? I just want to know what to expect before I walk into the shop.

surely's do need more assembly time than others. as noted by the fork install. i don't remember if the headset comes pressed in or not. cables usually need to be stringed

In the US complete assembly might cost you $65-$100 depending on the shop.
Help! I'm holding myself for ransom. Please send $10,000 immediately.

The Cross Check needs the steerer tube cut to length, the bars wrapped and the front brake cable run, in addition to the assembly needed on most other boxed bikes.
