    aztec teflon coated cables

It appears that the teflon wears out and becomes 'dead' and then collects dirt and becomes useless and needing replaced..

    Anyone else feel the same?

Can I recoat them with some teflon spray?

I tried some once for the brake cables and derailers, the teflon rubbed off where it entered the housing, didn't affect performance. not worth the extra cost, better to buy two regular cables for the same price, then replace when needed. Although the brake cable didn't rust along the path beneath the top tube. so that was a plus for it, I guess
