Campy 8 Speed Groupset--Value?
I have a late nineties (I think) Campy Mirage 8 speed groupset that I might be selling sometime in the future. Can anyone give me an idea of what it would be worth for the whole thing?
The group would include the brakes/shifters, the crank, the bb (english thread, I'm pretty sure), brakes, rd (chorus, actually), fd, and cassette (used, not sure how much, if any, value this would add to the group).
May also include a rear 8 speed Campy hub.
I would like an idea of what this group would be worth with/without hub.
Thanks,

probably next to nothing . It was the next to lowest group when it came out. it's not likely that even someone wanting to put together a retro bike with period appropriate equipment would want the components with the possible exception of the chorus rd.

I've been buying and selling and watching a lot of campy stuff on eBay over the past 8 years.
best thing for you is to go on the bay and punch up "completed sales" in the advanced search function for your different bits. Condition is a vital part of the value.
In the 8 speed era, most interest is in Record and Chorus.
Basically I agree with Herbie, you don't have anything with much value.

There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?
One.
So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...

Unfortunately, 8speed Campy is obsolete... while Campy 9/10/11 speeds are sort of in the same family, the 8speed stuff is a different animal entirely. What really sucks is that the 8speed hub won't even work with 9/10/11 (without a modification using parts which apparently don't exist anymore); it's a throw away part. You might be better off grabbing a junked frame to build up and sell locally as a complete bike?

At least that's what I read on Craigslist just yesterday for a 8 speed Mirage group.
But most of the Campagnolo stuff I see there is reposted every day...

I've seen a similar group on CL that was mixed with a few higher end Campy parts... he was asking $250. I thought the price was fair, but not good enough to bother with. No clue if he ever sold it.
I also saw a sweet frame a while ago which was tig welded oversized higher end steel with a Mirage group set... but I think it was a 9speed. That was listed for $500 which seemed fair.

Hmmm. Yeah. I actually have a mirage rd and chorus fd I could sell with it. Hoping maybe I could get $200 for it. May have to get it listed somewhere.
Thanks for all the advice.
